Instructions to create your beautiful embroidery using our "Pink Caladium Punch Needle" Kit found here.

Step #1
Take your Lavor Punch and insert the finest of the three needles into the punch. Tighten very tightly. The length of the needle needs to be approximately 16mm. If you make the length longer you will run out of thread before you finish your embroidery. The kit contains the quantity of thread allowing for this needle length.

Step #2
Take your pre-stabilised embroidery linen and fit this into your non-slip embroidery hoop. Make sure the linen is nice and taught and the hoop is well tightened before beginning your embroidery. See steps 3 and 4 which have video tutorials to get you started.

Step #3
Please watch this video to get you started on your punch needle embroidery.
Step #4
This video shows you how to end threads neatly.
Step #5
Once your embroidery is complete, remove your stitchery from the non-slip hoop and fit it into your birch timber frame. Tighten a little if needed but do not tighten too much as to warp your frame.

Step #6
Cut the excess fabric away from the back of your embroidery so that you have approx. 1" remaining.

Step #7
We want to secure your embroidery stitches to avoid any dislodging with time. Take your glue and squeeze a quantity to the back loop side of your embroidery. Then use your scraps of fabric just to spread the glue over the loop pile. Do this until you feel it is sufficiently secured.

Step #8
Place more glue around the back edge of your hoop and embroidery, and as you go fold the fabric over to secure it with the glue.

Step #9
Take your felt backing circle and ensure it is the right size and shape. If any trimming or neatening is required, do this now. Now glue around the outer hoop edge as well as a small amount around the inside.

Step #10
Secure your felt backing circle onto the glue and press down. Allow to fully dry. Your embroidery is now complete! Put it on display and enjoy!
